From the sweltering heat of Kolkata, India to the winding streets of San Francisco, I found myself in quite a few adventures so far. As an immigrant, the diversity, challenges and simple delights of America are still as captivating as the first day. When I first moved here, (after reading too many comics) I planned a life as fabulous as the ones I had seen and read in those books. If God laughs at plans, this must be a comedy show, albeit with a happy ending.
An army veteran, domestic violence survivor, and self proclaimed autodidact are just a few of the titles that define me.
As a young woman, the opportunity to model taught me the importance of presentation, networking and handling rejection with grace. It allowed me to travel, gain self esteem and see myself through the eyes of others.
Today, one of my passion projects is bringing the magic of makeup and photography to shelters where women have experienced violence in order to uplift them. I want to empower those who have lost hope to reclaim themselves through education, assistance and mentorship, just as others have done for me.
In addition, I am blessed to be able to have a successful career in tech, as an Agile coach, ScrumMaster and Project Manager over large enterprise programs. I love helping others find their passion and fit, and supporting those interested in transitioning to this industry.
